The company announced the release LaCie improved version of its external burner Blu-ray optical drive LaCie d2 Design by Neil Poulton, who is now able to read and “Burn” format discs BD-R at a speed of 4 x.

The device, developed in close cooperation with renowned industrial designer Neil Poultonon (Neil Poulton), is targeted primarily at professional users. It is equipped with USB 2.0 interfaces and FireWire, has 8 MB buffer and is characterized by dimensions 172,8 x 44,8 x 251,1 mm, with 1.4 kg weight.

As for speed indicators, they are:

  • Record: BD-R SL / DL - 4x, BD-RE SL / DL - 2x, DVD + /-R - 16x, DVD + /-RW - 6x, DVD + /-R DL - 4x,  CD-R - 40x, CD-RW - 2x;

  • Reading: BD-ROM - 4x, AACS BD-ROM - 2x, BD-R - 4x, BD-RE - 2x, DVD + /-R - 16x, DVD + /-RW - 8x, DVD + /-R DL - 8x , CD-R - 40x, CD-ROM - 40x, CD-RW - 32x.
